Designed for ages 3-7,, Fergal is a non-verbal show about a non-sociable character with a rich inner experience that resonates across generations.
Performed by one actor with live shadow puppetry and a sophisticated sound design, Fergal plays out on a beach, where he thinks he is alone, at last. As his curious nature and playful spirit take hold, he delights with child-like, care-free wonder in animated imagination worlds of his
own creation — but things change for Fergal when others arrive!
Funded by the Arts Council, Fergal was supported by Performing Arts Forum’s MAKE 2021, Branar’s Meitheal Award in 2022, The Ark’s “Still Loading” programme, Axis Assemble, and Limerick City Council. Premiering at the Bualadh Bos Children’s Festival at The Belltable in Limerick, in 2022, Fergal was presented at Backstage Theatre as part of Aisling Children’s Festival, in 2023, with support from Creative Ireland Longford.
